Petition, 1802, to the S.C. General Assembly re monetary issue and interest payments in paper currency issued by South Carolina, and concluding report discussing the decision reached by the legislative committee that addressed Nettles' petition. Petition, 1802, to the South Carolina legislature re an alleged error on interest payments on a "small sum of Paper Medium of this state" which resulted in the mortgage, advertisement, and subsequent sale of his property to Samuel Maverick. In the petition, Nettles asserts that he had "been guilty of no Default in complying with his engagements to the Public, but has received this Great injury, from the Misconduct of one of the Public Officers of the State" in that payment had been attempted but was refused by the treasurer at Charleston, acting as the Commissioner of Loans; also includes report of legislative committee, 8 Dec. 1802, granting Nettles partial compensation for the repurchase of his lands.

S.C. Statute 1811(5)639 specified that every board of commissioners of free schools was to make a yearly return to the legislature.
